Fundacion Guia Mi is a foundation who has custody of minors and family custody.

Family custody
When a child is in danger, by neglect, abuse or sexual abuse, a social worker of Fundacion Guia Mi can be appointed by the judge as a family guardian. The social worker guides the child, his/her family and other people involved, where the goal is to solve the problems in the family and that the child can live with his/her parents without guidance of Fundacion Guia Mi.

Custody
Fundacion Guia Mi can get appointed as a guardian of a minor by judicial decision. In such case a social worker will than be appointed to guide the minor and his/her family. We guide a maximum of 140 minors: 34% of these minors live with their parents, 21% live with foster families and 45% live in institutions like children homes. All the minors we guide have an individual plan, in which the guidance and goals are stipulated.
 

Foster Families
Another part of Fundacion Guia Mi is Centro Famia di Criansa Arubano which is the organization for foster families. We recruit new foster families, prepare families on their tasks, give courses to the families, and we guide them. Until now Centro Famia di Criansa Arubano recruited 59 families.
